    Question Advanced Obilesk Carrier advice.

So I recently aquired an Advanced Obi' Carrier through a friend, I have the Advanced swarmers and the rest of the gear from the mission (Warp Core, Anti-Proton Beam Array).
It will be going to my latest Science toon Goram (Federation), And seeing as he is not yet 50, I was wondering if anyone had any advice that could help m mold him into a PvP Science Carrier build.
Only experience I have with carriers are A Tactical Vo'Quv, and an Engineering Kar'Fi.

    Any and all help welcome.

Shanis is our resident science guru and the MACO session on Dec 22 will cover advanced science pvp if I'm not mistaken.

    Yep,it will be covered.
I will be covering 3 common builds(shield stripper, power drainer and disabler).

Now Xal,for Sci depends what do you want to do(especially in pvp),since Sci as class has multiple combination of builds unlike tacticals.

So my question is what do you want to do with it in pvp?

Seeing as the AOC is a rather beefy ship with access to the Anti-proton beam and the swarmer abilities I was thinking Disabler.

    Try that.

It has the highest base hull of any flyable ship in the game (took that away from the Fleet Vo'Quv, grr.... ) and a strong shield modifier. This automatically spells (tank) for this ship and, combining this with the low turn rate make this ship very limiting for a full Science character. Normally I'd suggest it on a KDF character, simply due to the shier number of KDF hanger pets, but it will go well on the Feds . I'd suggest these power levels:-

    15 - Weapons
    70 - Shields
    15 - Engines
    100 - Auxilary

Auxilary is important to your hanger recharge timers and Science powers, so I'd recommend that on full and stab as much remaining power as you can for Shields for improved regen. The ship abrely has any manoeuvrability, so minimum engines has no consequence and minimum weapons I'll explain in the Tactical section. After that, I suggest the following consoles:-

Engineering - 3 Enhanced RCS Accelerators (+AllRes), 1 EPS Flow Regulator, 1 SIF Generator
    Science - 3 Field Generators
Tactical - Advanced Obselisk Console, Antimatter Spread

After that, I'd suggest the Borg set and the Obelisk Warp Core. The two piece Borg set has an unrivalled regen ability, the Warp Core is a default and the shield will provide the most resistance against incoming fire. I'd also recommend Weapon Batteries, Engine Batteries and Auxiliary Batteries consumables for bolstering those lower power levels. Normally I'd suggest Plasmonic Leech on ships, but it isn't as effective on this type of ship build simply because you are utilising beams rather than Cannons or Turrets.

The Tactical section is somewhat limited. It barely has any at all, with only 6 weapon slots, 2 Tac console slots and a single Lieutenant Tactical initially, you are sparse for DPS. As a result, you'll probably want to focus more on Engineering and Science abilities and tactics (hence, low Weapon power level). Standard dual Tactical Team setup for the Lieutenant slot, so you can cycle them around (although you can play around with the idea of Attack Pattern Delta 1 for a good resistance buff). All beams for this ship seems like your preferred status (with the Antiproton special weapon), but you can easily slot Antiproton turrets if you wish for full 360 degree fire. No torpedo (no room for it on Tactical buff section - so its almost a waste of a weapon slot if you did put one on, although the Wide-Angle Quantum Torpedo could be useful in a limited fashion). The Tactical consoles are, as a result, not taken up by the usual Tactical Consoles, thus the Obelisk console for defensive purposes and the Antimatter Spread for causing havoc to multiple enemy players at the same time.

The Obelisk isn't exactly the squishiest thing in the world, I'll put it that way - due to high base hull and shield modifier. With a Commander Engineering, it makes this ship a great tank off the bat. Dual Emergency Power to Shield abilities (3 and 1) for great shield healing and resistance (as well as a handy shield power level increase), Reverse Shields Polarity 1 for "oh shit!" moments and AuxSIF3 for your primary hull heals. It's recharge time is 15 seconds, so you don't need two of them and it doesn't interfere with Tactical Team (unlike Engineering Team). You're probably wondering why there are AllRes'd Enhanced RCS Accelerators as opposed to Enhanced Neutronium's. Enhanced Neutroniums BARELY increases your resistance factor at all (less that 0.5% from the Mk XI blue, nevermind MK XII Purple), and the Enhanced Turn Rate consoles have the best increase from the standard consoles of any of the three types of Enhanced consoles. As a result, you can now turn a lot faster (which isn't a big deal, but nice indeed) and have the same resistance as two Neutronium Alloy's.

This is of course a CARRIER. This means Hanger pets are VERY important. However, this particular Carrier doesn't have as high of Science slots as the Vo'Quv, Atrox abomination and Recluse, which means you are somewhat limited for debuffs. This build I have linked has Viral Matrix 1 (a disable, as per requested), Tractor Repulsers 1 for pushing annoying DPSers away and Tractor Beam 1 for being an annoyance - an effective combination for simply annoying people to death. Transfer Shield Strength is an effective support shield heal in conjuncture with EPTS, and your Hazard Emitters 1 is another good support heal, this time to AuxSIF3 - which are both your primary hull heals. You may or may not find yourself able to use Viral Matrix as often as you'd like, but it depends on how often you face your target. Hanger Pets should ideally be the Yellowstone Runabouts for just being plainly irritating. Consoles should include, atht every least, two Field Generators, and an optional third console of your choice (possibly a third Field Gen or another special console I haven't thought of).

Overall, an effective tanky-healer here with some decent debuffs on the side to support your team. You won't do damage, you won't be leading the team, but you'll definatly be a useful asset in any match. Good luck!

    Dam you Ooiue.

Anyway,Xal you should try obtaining Assimilated Module console(i noticed you don't have it).

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?...lobelisk3_1548

There you go,i did little bit modified Ooiue's "fail" build.XD

In skill tree i switched 3 points from threat control(you don't need it when you have 6 points Armor reinforcements, plus you are not Tank),and put it into additional Subspace Decompiler.
I know,i know 3 would be enough but with 6 points, your Viral matrix will be OP with addition to Viral Matrix doffs(System Engineer ones).

    Overall everything else looks good.

    No problem.

And by the way, until you manage to obtain 2 piece borg set we putted in that skill planner(you will have to grind through Omega reputation),Aegis set is good to use it.

    Just a tip.

Already got it for the ship, I also obtained a Doff which, when TBR is used, pulls ships towards me instead of pushing them away, useful?

Yes that doff is excellent with TBR.

I know i use it on my Wells with Kinetic damage build(pure PVP build).

Combine TBR/pull doff with Gravity Wells and Dyson Gravimetric torpedo launcher/using TS II,you will find enemy players hull getting melted(especially on Escorts and Science ships).

Just bear in mind not to spam it,but more use it patiently and in right situation.

How would Trekker say that my Wells is OP when using that combination.
