After nine great years the world famous
    Official STAR TREK Convention
moved to The Rio Suites in 2011 and history was made! It became the biggest and best STAR TREK Convention of all time, an enormous turn-out of fellow fans from around the galaxy sharing a mutual love and admiration of Gene Roddenberry's incredible legacy! With non-stop, round the clock action featuring over 70 celebrities, the 2011 convention received raves from all, truly an incredibly wonderful time and as such, we can't wait to do it again in 2012.

    Our new home,
    The Rio Suites
was a HUGE hit with our audience: everyone loved the super-large suite rooms, the fantastic selection of restaurants, buffets and bars, the exciting casino and its in the sky Masquerade show, and of course the state of the art theatres (featuring built in stages) and tech systems that offered impeccable sound even at the back of the main and secondary theaters.

The huge vendors room was continually bustling and along with cool Trek collectibles you could often catch celebrities at their own booths or just wandering around. ALL the Trek stars won kudos from fans for being so accessible and friendly. There is something special about Las Vegas and this convention that puts everyone in the best of spirits and makes this convention a one of a kind celebration.

Tens of thousands of autographs and photo ops were all completed, the parties at the hotel's Voodoo Lounge were very well received, and the many Star Trek actors in varied live theatrical performances tore the house down. Having the Three Captains (Bill, Sir Patrick and Kate) on stage together was a true kick, and of course Leonard Nimoy's last appearance in Vegas was a highly emotional moment for us all, including him!

The bingo bash was a smash, the food functions a joy, the auctions fast-paced and bargain filled, and one of our favorite events was catching "The Sulu Summit" with original George Takei and new star John Cho. Who could forget the Klingon Summit with four "real" Klingons on stage! Then there was the amazing Guinness Book of World Records where we all blew past the previous record of most Trek costumes in one place.

And, of course, the incredible William Shatner was on hand all four days directing his co-production with Creation Entertainment called
    FAN ADDICTS
, a new television series that shows audiences what goes on behind the scenes of fan conventions.

Now after the success of 2011 we turn our attention to topping ourselves in 2012. Keep on the look out for new additions to this site and for our complimentary
    STAR TREK E-BULLETINS
    for on-going news.
    THANK YOU
to all our fellow fans for making the Las Vegas Convention the place to be for anyone who loves Star Trek as much as we do!

    D'Kora Class Marauder

The D’Kora Class is a Ferengi built Marauder, designed to function to serve as a Freighter for the Ferengi Alliance, exporting and importing trade goods to and from the Ferengi Alliance. The Ferengi were first officially encountered by Starfleet in 2364 when the U.S.S. Enterprise-D followed a Ferengi D’kora Marauder to the Delphi Ardu System believing the ship to possess a stolen weapon. Whilst this contact was officially recorded to be the first encounter, previous incidents with the Ferengi were realised after extensive searching through Starfleet history, stretching back as a far as 200 years to the 22nd Century.

The Marauder has also been known to serve as a Ferengi Battle Cruiser, possessing impressive firepower and the ability to survive over an extended period of time in certain circumstances. The ship is also equipped with a Battle Module, which allows the Marauder to literally transform into a configuration designed specifically for combat situations. Using this module and combining it with an EMP Pulse Generator as well as Swarm Missiles, the Marauder has its own fair share of fearsome weapons to hold its own in combat situations.

The Marauder has always traditionally been a freighter-type ship and is intended by the Ferengi Alliance to fulfil this role, however, should the ship find itself under attack, enemy ships will find more than they bargained for when trying to raid a Ferengi Convoy.
